BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Travan received her DMD/DDS from the University of Zagreb, School of Dental Medicine, Croatia. She later completed a postdoctoral certificate and MS in Periodontics in 2008 at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Travan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Travan has been a lecturer and now full-time faculty at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry since 2009. Her specialties and interest are implant dentistry (implant surgery, hard and soft tissue regeneration, etc.) and clinical periodontics. Dr. Travan is active in clinical research related to bone and soft tissue augmentation, as well as novel techniques in implant and periodontal therapy. She has published several scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Dr. Travan is the recipient of the Nevins BioHorizons Fellowship in 2017 by the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation (AAPF) and the Outstanding Clinical Faculty award in 2010 by the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity Chi Chapter. She is also the associate program director for the International Team for Implantology (ITI) Scholarship Center at the University of Michigan, and the current president of the Russell W. Bunting Periodontal Society. Dr. Travan enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
