BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Garcia Hammaker was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She attended dental school at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where she obtained the Doctorate of Dental Surgery in December 2011. During her dental school training, she worked ad-honorem as a Pre-Clinical Instructor in the Department of Removable Partial Dentures. Following graduation she worked in private practice and taught part time in the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor.
In 2013, Dr. Garcia Hammaker moved to Ann Arbor and started her residency in the Graduate Prosthodontics program at the University of Michigan. In 2014 she was honored with the Edward J. Billy Scholarship Award, and in 2016, the Dental Master’s Thesis Award from the Delta Dental Foundation for completion of her research “Influence of Screw Channel Angulation on the Fracture Resistance of Zirconia Abutmentsâ€. She obtained her certificate in Prosthodontics in May 2016 and received her Master’s degree in December of the same year.
Dr. Garcia Hammaker joined the department of BMS as a full time clinical faculty in September of 2016. She is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Education Association, and she also serves as a Reviewer for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.
