Dr. Laurie McNamara McClatchey is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Following graduation, Dr. McNamara returned to her home town of Ann Arbor for dental school and her Graduate Orthodontic education. During her residency, Dr. McNamara’s research focused on smile esthetics, and she has published her findings in multiple scientific journals. Additionally, she has co-authored several orthodontic textbook chapters and has lectured to dental professionals both nationally and internationally.

Dr. McNamara splits her time professionally between private practice and the University of Michigan. Dr. McNamara is a part-time faculty member in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan. Her teaching responsibilities include overseeing the clinical care provided by orthodontic residents along with her duties as course director of two didactic classes, providing an education in advanced techniques in orthodontics to both dental students and graduate orthodontic residents. Dr. McNamara loves the balance between teaching and private practice, but her most important job is being a mom to her two young children, Sophia and Alexander. When not a work, you often can find Laurie and her husband Stephen shuttling their kids to various activities around town.
