BIOGRAPHY
Lisa Kane DDS, MS is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. She earned her dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy and her Master of Science in Prosthodontics from the University of Michigan in 2012. She was inducted into the dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon in 2001. Dr. Kane is the course director for complete denture, a clinical foundations course taught to the second year dental students.
Dr. Kane’s graduate thesis, “Marginal and Internal Fit of Recently Introduced CAD/CAM Copings†was awarded 1st place at the American College of Prosthodontist’s 41st Annual session Table Clinic Competition. She has received multiple state and national awards including those from the Delta Dental fund, the Joseph A. Clayton Academic Scholarship, Horace Rackham Graduate School, and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Kane has also lectured regionally at dental meetings.
Dr. Kane’s research interests are in the field of metals and ceramics produced by CAD/CAM technology for clinical use in dentistry. She practiced as a general dentist for several years prior to completing her specialty training and has worked in public health, managed care, and private practice.
In addition to working at the university, Dr. Kane enjoys seeing patients in her private practice in Bloomfield Hills.
