The Pathways Program is designed to give students the flexibility to investigate areas of their choosing within oral health care. These investigations will occur in working offices, clinics, and laboratories whenever possible to provide "real-world" experience. Students will also become proficient in articulating their experiences through written and oral reports. In some cases, projects might qualify for publication in peer-reviewed journals or presentation at national conferences. Above all, the Pathways Program expects students to develop professional autonomy by playing the active role in determining the content of this extended learning opportunity.

Pathways Day 2026

Pathways Day is an annual event with the purpose of showcasing the capstone projects the D4 Immersion students and their mentors worked on throughout the students' time in Dental School. In the Winter 2024 semester, we joined with the School of Dentistry’s Office of Research to have all D4 Immersion students and any Selectives students who were doing projects present at Research Day, in order to provide students a wider audience to share their experience.  We continue to schedule our Pathways students as part of Research Day going forward. Next year, Research Day will be on February 11, 2026.

More information is coming soon.
