OverviewAs a department, Cariology, Restorative Sciences & Endodontics takes on a large responsibility for DDS training. Within the department, there are a wide range of specialty and research foci. CRSE dental teaching activities include cariology, general dentistry, computerized dentistry, endodontics, dental public health, geriatric and special care dentistry, and applied biomaterials.Graduate activities include 3-year Master's Degree programs in the field of Restorative Dentistry or Endodontics. CRSE also offers a post-graduate program in Restorative Dentistry, Regenerative or Endodontics. The CRSE research activities include educational research, computerized dentistry research, clinical research, molecular biology, cancer biology, health disparities research, hard tissue research, pulp biology, and novel biomaterials. Our Programs Endodontics Graduate Program (MS) A three year program designed to train dentists to become experts in oral pain management. Endodontics Graduate Program (Non-degree) A six, nine, or twelve-month program focused on advanced and comprehensive academic and clinical experience in Endodontics, utilizing emerging and advanced technology. Graduate Restorative Dentistry Program (MS) A six or twelve month program to enhance fundamental restorative principles and to correlate oral sciences with clinical decision making and patient treatment. Regenerative Dentistry Graduate Program (Non-degree) A one year training in the space of biomaterials and tissue engineering applied to dental, oral, and craniofacial tissue regeneration, through didactic, research, and clinical experiences. Restorative Dentistry Graduate Program (Non-degree) The University of Michigan School of Dentistry offers a Dental Postgraduate (formally known as Postdoctoral) Program in Restorative Dentistry starting for advancing training beginning in July, of each year and ending the following June. The program accepts between one and four participants annually. Patient Clinics Endodontics The Endodontics clinic specializes in the prevention and treatment of diseases pertaining to the root of a tooth. Graduate General Dentistry Clinic At the Graduate General Dentistry Clinic, care is provided by dentists pursuing graduate specialty training. With services ranging from routine treatments (cleanings, exams, x-rays, fillings) to advanced specialty services (same-day crowns, implant restorations, veneers), the Graduate General Dentistry Clinic can serve as a one-stop dental clinic.
