Image Hamoun Sabri, DMD, PgC hsabri@umich.edu Links Google Scholar Biography Dr. Sabri is a Periodontics (MS) resident at the Department of Periodontics & Oral Medicine, at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU). Immediately upon graduation, he completed a one-year advanced Oral Surgery internship, as well a research assistantship at the Cranio-maxillofacial research center, at the medical center of the University. In 2021, he joined the department of Periodontics & Oral Medicine, at Michigan to start a one-year specialized fellowship program in Periodontal and Implant Microsurgery, consisting of a post-graduate training focused on microscopic and contemporary Periodontal surgical techniques. He currently continues his research activities in a new postdoctoral research position, which mainly includes clinical research focusing on: reconstruction of periodontal supporting tissues and management of implant diseases, with novel technologies such as a high resolution dental ultrasonography. Dr. Sabri has authored over 60 peer-reviewed research articles. He is the recipient of the Best Clinical Case Award from the Michigan Periodontal Association (MPA), the Best Clinical Research Award from the International Symposium of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry (ISPRD), the American Academy of Periodontology’s Robert S. Schoor Best Research Study Award, the Best Research Study Award from the North East Implant Symposium (NEIS), and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) Postgraduate Student Award. He also serves as an associate editor for Wiley Case Reports in Dentistry and as an editorial board member of the Journal of Periodontal Research (JPR).
