Transitioning to academia, she joined the faculty at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil in 2003. Pursuing her research interests, she relocated to London in 2006, where she served as a research fellow at King's College London School of Dentistry, focusing on dental stem cells until 2010, when she returned to her position in Brazil. In 2014, Dr. Pobocik moved to Michigan and pursued a residency in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, earning clinical certification and a master's degree by 2019. Joining the School of Dentistry's faculty, she now serves as a clinical faculty member in the Cariology, Restorative Sciences, and Endodontics Department. Her main focus involves teaching dental students both clinical and pre-clinical skills. Despite her primary dedication to teaching, Dr. Pobocik continues her research in Dental Stem Cells and Oral Cancer. Her involvement in managing pre-clinical courses has sparked a new passion for Dental Education. With her varied training experiences, diverse responsibilities, and participation in multiple research projects, Dr. Pobocik emphasizes the importance of organization, flexibility, teamwork, and effective interprofessional communication in achieving her professional objectives.
