About Patient Services

The University of Michigan School of Dentistry was established in 1875 to educate dental professionals, treat patients and perform scholarly research. The Office of Patient Services is very proud of the School of Dentistry's record of commitment to both the dental profession and patient care.  In the past year, we have had over 100,000 patient visits in our predoctoral, specialty, and faculty clinics.

The Office of Patient Services is one of the largest departments at the School of Dentistry. It is our department's goal to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients possible.  In order to provide the customer service that identifies us as Leaders and Best, we ensure clinic operations run smoothly and efficiently. Divisions within Patient Services include:

  • Patient Admitting & Emergency Services Clinic
  • Information and Appointment Office
  • Patient / Student Monitoring
  • Patient Business Office
  • Central Records
  • Central Sterilization
  • Dispensing
  • Dental Stores

One of the activities coordinated by Patient Services is the dental licensing exam - North East Regional Board (NERB). Facilities
