Ann Arbor, MI — June 5, 2014 — Michael Fox is the School’s new director of Budget and Financial Planning. He joined the School of Dentistry on June 1 after serving for more than three years as executive director of financial analysis and budget at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.
Previously, Fox was vice president for finance and administration at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois, and before that, controller and chief financial officer at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He also worked in the private sector as chief financial officer at a bank in suburban Washington, D.C., as well as two accounting firms near the nation’s capital.
Fox earned a bachelor’s degree and graduated with honors from the University of Maryland in 1981. He became a certified public accountant two years later, and earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Geneva College in 2006.
Since 1998, Fox has served on the Advisory Council of SAGE Scholars, a tuition rewards program that is offered to full-time undergraduate students by more than 300 private colleges and universities.
Welcoming Fox, Dean Laurie McCauley said he “will be working with the leadership of the School on broad and complex business, administrative and financial operations.”
“It is a privilege to join a team that is clearly focused on understanding, serving and anticipating student and community needs,” he said. “The School’s commitment to excellence does stand out.”
