About Pipeline
The primary objective of Pipeline is to improve the science aptitude and enhance the academic skills of freshmen and sophomore college level students. The program seeks to facilitate the continued academic success of participants for the duration of their undergraduate education.
Pipeline students participate in a variety of activities designed to strengthen their academic foundation in the science, to further develop their academic skills and reading comprehension, and to increase exposure of career opportunities within the dental and medical fields.
All program activities take place on campus at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Students will have opportunities to utilize classrooms and facilities within the Dental School, the Medical School, and the Undergraduate Science Building. Seventy five percent of participant time will be spent in academic skills sessions, science mini-courses, and labs.
The remainder of the time will focus on career exploration, clinical observation, and pre-clinical activities. Each participant is assigned a dental/medical student mentor. There are formal and informal opportunities for participants to interact with faculty and staff.
