The Internationally Trained Dentist Program (ITDP) offers an opportunity for dentists who are graduates of foreign dental schools to obtain a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. The 28 month program begins in January each year as eight ITDP students will engage in a hybrid semester with second year students before fully joining the third year class for Spring/Summer, Fall and Winter terms. The second year of the program includes didactic and clinical courses as well as required clinical rotations. The DDS degree is then granted after successful completion of all requirements.
Graduates of the ITDP will be eligible to take most state and regional dental licensing examinations offered in the United States (a few states still require US citizenship for dental licensure).
We admit 10 students per year to the ITDP.
