Raymond A. Maturo

Dr. Ray Maturo grew up in Pontiac, MI and attended Cranbrook High School in Bloomfield Hills on an academic scholarship. In 1978, he graduated from Amherst College in Amherst, MA, where he lettered in football and lacrosse. He graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1982 and practiced general dentistry for two years. In 1986 he completed the Pediatric Graduate Program at the University of Michigan and fulfilled the requirements for his M.S. in 1987. He established his private practice in Ann Arbor, MI in 1986. He has been a part-time clinical instructor at both the University of Detroit (1987-1990) and at the University of Michigan (2004 – present). In 2004 he was appointed to the State Board of Dentistry and was reappointed in 2008. He serves on the board of directors of the Washtenaw Children’s Dental Clinic and regularly opens his office for the care of underserved children, providing treatment along with some very generous Pediatric Dental Residents, who volunteer their time.
Ray is married to Ann Mulhern. Together they have four grown daughters.
Ray has been a supporter of girls youth lacrosse in Ann Arbor as a coach, organizer and by providing financial support. He started the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team at Ann Arbor Huron High School. All four of his daughters have played varsity collegiate lacrosse. In his free time, he enjoys wood working and running.
