Dr. Laurie McNamara McClatchey is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She also attended The University of Michigan for dental school and her Graduate Orthodontic training, receiving her Masters degree in Orthodontics in 2005. Following graduation, Dr. McClatchey joined the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry as a part-time faculty member. She is involved in teaching both the dental students and the graduate orthodontic residents. Dr. McClatchey is in private practice in Ann Arbor with Drs. Patrick Nolan, Donald Burkhardt , and her father James McNamara. Her practice philosophy includes preadjusted edgewise, early treatment, and rapid maxillary expansion.
Dr. McClatchey is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontics, Michigan Association of Orthodontists, and the Washtenaw District Dental Society. In addition, she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. McNamara’s research on smile esthetics has been published in multiple scientific journals and she co-authored a book chapter.
