Dr. Hamerink received his BA from Wayne State University. He received his DDS and did his graduate studies in dental materials and fixed prosthetics at The University of Michigan. Dr. Hamerink is in private practice in Plymouth, Michigan. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School. He joined the faculty at The University of Michigan in 1979 as an Assistant Professor and taught until 1993. He rejoined the faculty in 1999 and is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor. He instructs in the comprehensive care VIC clinic and lectures in the areas of impression techniques, implant abutment selection the single tooth and interim implant. Dr. Hamerink is involved in evaluation and testing of the Eclipse resin system, a co-investigator in a clinical study of the Dentatus Anew provisional and overdenture implants and is directing the Outreach Primary Prosthodontic Care pilot. He is on the editorial board for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and evaluator for the Dental Advisor for clinical and laboratory materials. Dr. Hamerink is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Washtenaw District Dental Society, the Francis B. Vedder Society, the R.H. Kingery Society and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.  He is a Trustee of the Michigan Dental Association and Past-President of the Washtenaw District Dental Society. He is a member of the executive board and Past-President of The Francis B. Vedder Society of Crown and Bridge Prosthodontics.   Fellow of the International College of Dentistry.
