The School's HR Director partners with University HR and Academic HR to ensure faculty and staff relation issues are handled appropriately and timely in compliance with U-M policy and collective bargaining agreements.  The following services are provided under Employee Relations:

  • Consultation on progressive discipline
  • Guidance on staff grievances for non-union and bargained-for-staff
  • Administration and interpretation of collective bargaining contracts: AFSCME, House Officers, and LEO
  • Consultation on performance improvement plans
  • Mediation and conflict resolution
  • Coach managers and staff to minimize conflict and advise on difficult conversations
